gary, just a few comments on your last replies
1)you didnt answer the question there. you stated that hamas rearms during cease fires, as if its a bad thing. however, you then approved of isreal being prepared for war. i asked you if isreal can rearm and train during cease fires, why cant hamas. you never addressed the question asked.
2)yes, in this case isreal WAS the agressor. hamas and isreal had a cease fire set up and isreal broke it in a couple ways: they bombed a tunnel in gaza and they didnt open the borders like they were supposed to when the cease fire started 6 months ago. and if you dont like domestic media, the BBC reported how isreal broke the truce on nov 4th. dont make up excuses to disprove the fact that this particular time, isreal WAS the aggressor and the one who broke the cease fire
3)you never properly responded to why isreal shot at both red cross workers and a un convoy. instead, you give me the response of "perhaps they had a reason to do it". using that logic, hamas "perhaps has a reason" they fire rockets." "perhaps there was a reason" we were attacked on 911. sorry, but your response didnt answer the question. in both cases, the red cross and un convoy CLEAR identified themselves before being attacked by the isreali army. and even if those 2 cases were an accident, how can you honestly say that not allowing in humanitarian aid was an accident also? why wont the isreali army allow impartial overseers to witness and record what is happening in gaza? could it be that isreal is hiding something?
4)i dont know how to respond to your bible response. yes, the bible DOES give alot of examples of isreal killing its enemies, but does that make it legal or just? the Quran also gives examples of slaughtering islams enemies but the only ones who really follow that are the radicals. once again, just because a religious text says something does not make it so.
im certainly not justifying all the actions of hamas, as in the past they have broken truces and killed alot of isrealis. however, you seem blinded by your support of isreal in this case. isreal broke the truce, isrreal is stopping the humanitarian aid, and isreal is the one killing a large number of innocent civilians. isreal certainly has the right to defend itself, but this case goes way beyond defending and is a totally offensive operation.
thanks for the time you took to respond, even if we dont agree. and look up the BBC and you will see that even the brits agree isreal broke the truce in this particular instance.
